Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Cherwood Guest House, I was immediately struck by its warm and welcoming atmosphere, much like the gracious hospitality I've come to appreciate back home in Galle, Sri Lanka. Our room was impeccably clean, providing a comfy space to rest after exploring the stunning Paignton seafront, just a stone’s throw away. The highlight of our mornings was the generous full English breakfast served with locally sourced ingredients, including succulent sausages and fresh, grilled tomatoes—each bite a delightful experience shared with my travel companions. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the assortment of herbal teas, which resonated with my love for fine tea. Though we ventured out to explore nearby attractions like Torre Abbey, I found the joy of returning to a quaint guest house that retains so much of its original charm. As an enthusiast for colonial-style bungalows and hospitality, I left Cherwood with a heart full of cherished memories and a desire to return. It’s a spot I can deeply recommend for families seeking comfort and top-notch service amidst picturesque settings.
